While most people in the US, Australia and New Zealand are familiar with Systematic Kinesiology, this therapy is yet to be discovered by many people in the UK. This post provides an introduction to the treatment, how it works and what it can help with.
What is Systematic Kinesiology?
Kinesiology was introduced to the UK in 1988 by Brian Butler. The term, ‘Systematic’ was later added to the title to identify it as separate from Applied Kinesiology, which is practiced in the US. Systematic Kinesiologyis a complete form of natural health care that uses muscle testing to find where health issues stem from.
Although other kinds of Kinesiology have now reached the UK, it is Systematic Kinesiology which I have chosen to focus on as this is the one therapy which addresses imbalances across all four aspects of health: structural, nutritional, mental and energetic.
Which Conditions Can Kinesiology Help With?
Something which I hear quite often from my clients on their first visit is: “I haven’t been feeling well for some time now but all my clinical tests are showing results within range”. One of the biggest benefits of Systematic Kinesiology, is how we can use it to detect subclinical imbalances before they develop into conditions that require the use of chemical drugs or surgery. Chronic conditions can also be supported through Systematic Kinesiology and, often, over time clients may be able to gradually come off medication as the body is brought back to its natural balance.
The most common complaints addressed through this treatment are digestive, hormonal and immune. Kinesiology is also very effective as a long lasting solution for structural problems (such as back pain) in cases where other manipulation techniques have not improved symptoms.
What Happens During a Session?
The tool I use to lead the treatment is a Muscle test, as weak priority muscles will dictate which technique is used. This is a gentle, safe and precise test. Once the root cause has been detected, each treatment that follows looks to address the issue through specialised lymphatic massage, the testing of nutritional supplements to aid recovery, energy balancing and gentle emotional work, if desired.
Clients are fully clothed throughout these treatments and usually, the positive effects are felt from the very first session. Depending on the condition and how long it’s been present, further sessions may be required. Appointments are normally scheduled to occur on a monthly basis.
Systematic Kinesiology and Balance
Systematic Kinesiology is a therapy which looks beyond the symptoms to find the root cause. When found and fully addressed through treatments, balance in the body is able to be restored and then maintained in order to prevent the problem from returning.
“No matter how much it gets abused, the body can restore balance. The first rule is to stop interfering with nature.” – Deepak Chopra M.D.
